Property Information

The Captain’sCabin is on the ground floor of the building with access through a shared entrance.

The apartment is all on one level with the living room to the front, enjoying the fantastic view of the harbour through the enormous bay windows.

There is a cosy wood burning stove in the living room which makes the apartment super warm when running.

The kitchen is in a galley style and also enjoys the views.

The bedroom to the rear benefits from a 6′ double bed that can be split into two 3′ singles if that is your preference for sleeping arrangements.

This makes the apartment ideal for just a couple of friends sharing as well as couples.

Ground Floor only: Entrance hall, living room, fully fitted kitchen, shower room with WC and bedroom with either a 6′ double bed or two 3′ single beds.

Facilities & Services
Heating is via electric central heating and the wood burning stove. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven & hob, kettle, toaster, fridge (with ice compartment) and dishwasher. There is a shared laundry room in the building with a washing machine & tumble dryer. The living room area has a flatscreen, digital TV & DVD player. There is an iron & ironing board and hairdryer available. WiFi is available.

Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are all included. Due to the nature of Polruan, vehicle access direct to the property is quite difficult / virtually impossible through extremely narrow streets, but you can get within 200 metres of the property to unload. The village car park is about a 6 minute walk away and weekly tickets are available. No smoking or dogs are allowed at the property.

Where we are

32 Waterfront Apartments, West Street, Polruan

Overlooking the whole of Fowey harbour, this beautifully presented apartment offers stunning views from the living room and kitchen, and provides a flexible bedroom layout for either couples or friends staying in this brilliant waterside location. Just a couple of hundred yards from the Lugger Inn and the town quay at the centre of this quintessential Cornish fishing village.

Located right in the heart of the historic harbour village of Polruan on the eastern side of the Fowey estuary, this completely refurbished and modernised apartment offers amazing views of the whole of Fowey harbour. Polruan itself boasts two pubs, a cafe, a bakery, and a small village shop, and it is just a 4 minute ferry ride across the river to Fowey with its fantastic range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Cornwall of course has many and varied attractions and activities, but, be warned, you may find that with the fantastic beaches, breathtaking scenery, stunning coastal walks, all of the water based activities – harbour tours, sea fishing, kayaking, self-drive motor boats – and so on, that you don’t feel much like leaving the Fowey estuary at all!

Take particular care when you pause briefly to sit on the window seat in the sitting room of the Captain’s Cabin, you could lose a couple of unplanned, but contented, hours just watching and enjoying all of the activity in the harbour. The passanger ferry runs until 11pm from May through to September which makes staying in Polruan and enjoying the delights of Fowey an easy possibility. Your car can be left either in the Polruan car park or in the Fowey Car Park, should you feel like visiting another part of Cornwall, although crossing the estuary is quite easy via the Bodinnick car ferry.

What our visitors say about Captain’s Cabin:

The property is just beautiful…
Katie and John from Old Dalby stayed at Captain’s Cabin for 7 nights in October 2018

Myself and my partner John had a wonderful stay at The Captains Cabin. On our arrival we were greeted with flowers and prosecco and also a warm welcome from our host Jeremy. The property is just beautiful with warm and clean décor throughout, which we both want to replicate it in our own home! The stunning view from the lounge over looking the harbour of Polruan and Fowey just added to our lovely stay at the Captains Cabin. We would definitely recommend and also stay again ourselves.

A view you can’t take your eyes off
Helen from Ottery St Mary stayed at Captain’s Cabin for 7 nights in September 2017

A wonderful apartment in a beautiful, interesting location. Everything you needed for a very comfortable stay. The highlight was the big bay window in the lounge where you could sit all evening watching the river activity and the lights coming on in nearby Fowey. It wouldn’t have mattered if the weather had stopped us from getting out as it was such a comfortable apartment, with a glorious view, books and DVD’s left to enjoy.

The pubs and tea room are only a couple of minutes walk away as is the pedestrian ferry across to Fowey. Wonderful area for walking the nearby coastal path. Communication with Jeremy, the owner, was efficient, helpful and friendly. We would definately stay again.

Perfect accommodation in a perfect situation in Polruan
Catherine from Bridport stayed at Captain’s Cabin for 7 nights in May 2018

Captain’s Cabin was a very clean and comfortable one bedroomed apartment, well stocked and convenient, and with a perfect view from the lounge and kitchen of the harbour estuary and Fowey opposite. Polruan is well placed for walking the coastal path, and walking around the estuary, using the ferries.

Personal welcome from the owner who had left a welcome bottle and home made brownies – delicious. No problems were encountered.

Wonderful long weekend at Captains Cabin
Laura from Barnstaple stayed at Captain’s Cabin for 3 nights in April 2018

We had a lovely weekend staying at Captains Cabin. Polruan is a lovely, quaint village. Very quiet but early in the season. Lovely little touches it more special, the chocolate brownies were delicious, thank you. Would definitely recommend it.
